To see other movie features, go here: http://disney-club.deviantart.com/journal/Featured-Movies-and-Shorts-225465518"The Lion King was considered a little movie because we were going to take some risks. The pitch for the story was a lion cub gets framed for murder by his uncle set to the music of Elton John. People said, 'What? Good luck with that.' But for some reason, the people who ended up on the movie were highly passionate about it and motivated."~Don HahnThe movie came out in 1994 and became the little movie that could! It was the highest grossing film of that year. Since then there's been many re-releases of the movie, sequels, and even a Broadway musical based on it.What's the movie about? Featured Artist - Freddie MooreFreddie Moore and Ollie Johnston, two stars of the Disney golden ageToday is Fred Moore's birthday! (Very close to Frank Thomas'!)He would have been 101 years old today.Fred Moore was only 19 when he joined up with Disney. The story goes that one of Fred Moore's friends couldn't make it in an interview with Walt for a job, so Fred seized the opportunity and went in his place (without any formal art training!). Lo and behold, then next he knew he was working in the animation department. Some of Fred's best work was on Disney's well-known mascot, Mickey Mouse himself. He became in the in-house expert on Mickey and even transformed him from the old "pie-eyed, robber hose" look to the "pear shaped" look he is today.Fred Moore had and still has a profound influence on animators then and now. His drawings were full of charm, expression and emotion. Some of the most popular character he animated in the movies were the Dwarfs in Snow White, Timothy Mouse in Dumbo, Lampwick in Pinocchio, an

RIP Peter O'TooleI'm sad to report that Peter O'Toole passed away today.Disney fans know him best as Anton Ego in Ratatouille.Classic movie fans know him best for his academy-nominated role as Lawrence of Arabia (1962). He was a very talented actor and he will surely be missed.

Tip of the Day: Thoughts of dreams and problemsTip of the day: What do you fill your mind with? Dreams or problems? Time to focus on our dreams! We must always be aware of the problems in our lives but if we are not finding time to focus on our dreams and goals then we will never achieve them.Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Tip of the Day: the StruggleLearn to enjoy the struggle. Our most memorable goals we achieve in our lives are always extra special because of the many hardships we had to endure before succeeding. Those memories will be some of your fondest when you're successful. So take sometime to live in the moment and enjoy the struggle before achieving bigger and better things.Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Curry ChipsI need to run something by you...because I am starting to think I have a medical problem which causes people who work in food shops to detest me.I was in Matlock, Derbyshire the other day to watch a fancy light show. Was with the family, it was a nice evening, we went to a chipy shop for tea.I walked into the chipy shop and knew almost immediately that there was only one thing I wanted...no fishy, no pies, no chickens...all I wanted was curry chips. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see nothing wrong with wanting curry chips for tea. Many people eat curry chips. Curry chips are tasty.I approached the chippy girl behind the counter, she asked what I wanted. I said curry chips. She nodded, got a plate and put lots of chips on it. It was all going very smoothly. She put the plate in front of me and said "I will just get the curry for your curry chips" and walked away. She returned with a empty plastic pot and started to fill the pot with curry. I looked at her and said "don't worry, i'
Tip of the Day: ConversationToday try to make conversation with at least one person that you don't know. No matter how short the conversation might be.More opportunities come if you make a habit of striking up conversations with people you don't know. You wouldn't believe some of the people I've been able to get to know just because I decided to talk to them.Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Tip of the Day: is it memorable? In this ever growing art community (especially online) it gets harder and harder to be noticed. You will be noticed when your art and/or the idea behind your art is unique.Think about how memorable your art is. If it looks like a million other things, no one is going to remember it.Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Tip of the Day: Mental BlindersSometimes you really have to just shut your brain off after making a good decision and just do it. Too many times we find that we know what to do but just don't do it. Today, come to a decision that is something you KNOW is a good one, then put on the mental blinders and just FOCUS on that task.I think part of what success I've achieved so far has come from being able to focus on one thing for long periods of time like Forrest Gump.Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Tip of the Day: Ability to block outTip of the Day: sometimes the ability to forget or block out is just as important as the ability to remember or concentrate. There are always going to be thoughts that won't do us any good.Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Tip of the Day: TryingSuccess comes from experience and experience comes from trying. You are on the right track as long as you keep trying.Every failed attempt comes with knowledge and experience. Keep trying! You'll get it sooner or later Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Tip of the Day: AttitudeWhen you're dealt a bad situation believe that good things will soon happen if you keep a positive attitude. If you adopt this belief then good things WILL happen. In many situations your attitude is the determining factor between a positive outcome or a negative one. A positive attitude is what will keep you going through the tough times.Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
Our creature seen in MIB3 trailerYou can see the creature Thierry Lafontaine and I designed in the beginning of this trailer. It's the "fishy" thing. One of the joys of working on live action is to see people like Will Smith interacting with one of our 'illustrations.' Incredible.Ken Ralston and the fine folks at Sony Image Works did a phenomenal job.Bobby
Tip of the Day: 3 Things to get to our destinationPersistence is the engine, common sense is the steering wheel, belief is the key. We need all 3 to get to our destinations. Now let's get painting!!Sending positive vibes to you all!Bobby
