Sorry we're a little late on this one because of the holidays.

Tyrus Wong, best known for his iconic work on Bambi passed away at the end of '16 at the age of 106.
He only worked for Disney for 3 years, but his work is Incredible.
Initially for the film, Walt Disney and CO were having issues coming up with "the look" of the film. Tyrus, who initially worked as an in-betweener saw some of the concept art and thought it looked too detailed. So, he took it upon himself to paint some of his own concept art and show it to his superiors. They instantly recognized his talent and from then on served as a lead artist on the project.

Disney invited him to work on Mulan in the '90s, but he declined saying the animation part of his life was over.

We can only imagine how many people have been inspired by him since the movie's debut, and it's truly amazing that a man of Chinese decent had such an illustrious career throughout the 20th century.

106?  Good for him.
That artwork is just breathtaking, they sure don't make them like that anymore.  Bravo, may he rest in peace.
