AND THE WINNERS ARE...

:star: IN THE JUDGE'S SECTION :star:
These three entries were chosen by the panel of three judges, DrMistyTang, DrZime, and ratscout
They were chosen based on creativity and how well they might fit into the Disney canon.

:bulletblue: First Place :bulletblue:
What the judges were saying: Mr. Finch immediately caught the judge's eyes.
We loved that he was based off of a historic figure but not copied exactly off of said figure. The fact
that this character is in the movie business to get rich is a fun story, and the way he interacts with
the artists' previously invented characters is perfect. Congratulations on first place!

:bulletblue: Second Place :bulletblue:
What the judges were saying:  The judges loved this foray into Inuit mythology.
There's just enough charm and wit to the included story to counteract how dark and non-Disney it could conceivably go.
The design is simultaneously a bit scary with the sheer size of the character, but also cute with round shapes.
And, even though the artist said there'd be no singing in their movie,
the judges laughed when they said "No singing in this Disney movie! Unless you want the giant to hear you coming.".
That could actually make a great theme if it were to become a musical. ;)

:bulletblue: Third Place :bulletblue:
What the judges were saying: Though the time-travelling entertainer Mr. Zook may not fit very well into Disney movie canon,
the judges thought he'd make an AMAZING TV show villain in the stylings of Star VS the Forces of Evil or Gravity Falls.
He's one of the most unique entries, and would be a break-out character when presented in the right medium.
Congratulations!

:star: IN THE POPULAR VOTE SECTION :star:
These three entries were chosen by popular vote of the members of the group.

:bulletred: First Place :bulletred:

:bulletred: Second Place :bulletred:

:bulletred: Third Place :bulletred:

And that wraps up our series of character design contests!
We hope you all who entered (especially those who entered all three contests) had a good time fleshing out three characters for a possible story.
Next up we're bringing back one of our annual fan-fave contests, the Coloring Book Challenge. Stay tuned!

:star: For this challenge you'll be creating a villain of your own design for an imaginary Disney movie in the form of a design sheet.

Read on for more rules, extra challenge points and details!

:bulletred: Your design sheet must be on a plain white background. No colors, no borders, nada.
That may seem a little minimalist to some of you, but since this is a character design challenge all we want to see is your character. You may include the character's name or the name of your fake movie if you so wish.

:bulletred: Conversely, you're encouraged to color your character. But, it's not a requirement.

:bulletred: To those who also entered the Princess Design Sheet Challenge and/or the Prince Design Sheet Challenge: Please continue the story you've already started by making a villain to fit into the same story (There are additional points you can earn by doing this. See below).

:bulletred: A "villain" can be a male or a female character.

:bulletred: Your entry must be a design sheet with these minimum requirements:
:pointr: One full body picture of any angle or pose (preferably colored)
:pointr: Three bust/portraits in three different views with three different expressions. The views to be included must be: face-on, profile, and 3/4s. See the illustration below for a visual representation:

:bulletred: After you've met those requirements you can add any number of portraits/poses, etc. you want. But remember: no pictures with backgrounds. Character only!

:bulletred: You don't have to draw in the Disney style. Please use your own if you wish to.

:bulletred: Your entry into the contest must be new! Where's the fun in entering something you already made a million years ago? You can only enter pictures your created after this contest was put up (08-15-16).

:bulletred: The character you enter into this contest must be new as well. Don't use an old one and make a new character sheet. If the judges look through your gallery and find you've cheated by using an old design, your entry will be removed and you'll be banned from the contest.

:bulletred: No fan characters allowed. So something like a design for Aladdin and Jasmine's future child will not be allowed. Your character must be for a completely original, new story (exception being the next rule).

:bulletred: The only way we'll allow you to use a story that's NOT new is if it's an old fairy tale that Disney hasn't done yet. (Something like Grimm's Fairytales)

:bulletred: Though characters from fairytales are allowed, we're not allowing books, plays or novels. (The reason being characters from books or novels are most likely already partly described/designed in the literature through description.)

:bulletred: Your design cannot be based on historical figures, either.

:bulletred: Unlike the other two princess and prince contests, we're going to let the cat outta the bag on this one: your villain doesn't have to be human. He/she can be a monster, a magical being, etc. Let your imagination go wild with this last in our series of contests.

:bulletred: For this contest you'll also be able to include a pet/henchman for the villain if you choose.

:bulletred: Keep in mind this is a Disney contest: you should try to keep your character in line with Disney's aesthetic. If you make a character who's a super violent satan demon... well, just don't. That doesn't mean you shouldn't think out of the box, just think within Disney's presentation and tone.

:bulletred: Please write about your villain and the movie you imagine for him/her in your description, and what makes him/her unique from other Disney villains. This isn't a requirement, but it's always good to have a story to go with a face. (Plus, the judges always read them!)

:bulletred: Regular group rules still apply. Be sure to read those if you're not up on them.

:bulletred: Any medium is allowed except for literature. (Sorry guys, I can't think of a way to include written entries on this one)

:bulletred: You're allowed TWO entries.

:bulletred: Keep it clean. No nudity, gore, or nipples poking through clothes. NO FETISHES! G-rated, please!

:bulletred: Plagiarism is not allowed. (Pretty obvious rule) No tracing, no direct copying off of a screenshot or character sheet of any kind. In the past, copying gave the entrants an unfair advantage, so we're not even allowing "eye-balling" anymore. Referencing, however, is fine.
If you're confused about tracing VS referencing, please read this little tutorial:
Tracing vs. Referencing by Diikae

:bulletred: Extra Points!

There're two ways to get extra points for this challenge: include a turn-around of your character, and for those awesome people who entered the princess design and/or prince challenges, you can have a little illustration featuring your prince and/or princess with your villain on the sheet. The illustration can have a background if you so want to have one for it.

A turn-around of your character will include four angles (front, profile, 3/4 and back) all in full body and in the same basic pose (if your pose is a little bit off between the four, that's okay. We're not aiming for perfection). For this you will gain 10 extra points toward your popular vote score as well as a nod from the judges.
This means if you decide to do the the bare minimum as well as the turn around you will have five *unique* full-body drawings on your design sheet.
See the illustration below for a visual representation:

For the illustration featuring your villain with your prince and/or princess, the rules are very simple. Just draw them together in some way. They can be interacting or it could be as simple as a height chart comparison. Only people who entered in the Princess and/or prince Design Sheet Challenge contest will be eligible for these points.

Here's what a minimum and a maximum entry will look like for a quick reference.

:pointr: You must also mention that your entry was made for this contest in order to enter it. If you don't, we'll assume you accidentally submitted your picture to the contest folder by mistake and remove it.

:bulletred: When you're done with your entry, please submit it to our Contest 52 - Villain Design Sheet Challenge folder in our group's gallery!

Please only submit your entry once because the folder is limited to only 2 per person (if you submit the same one twice and then try to submit a second one later you'll be in for a rude awakening). You entry should be accepted into the group within at least a day and a half. If your entry still hasn't been accepted in a day and a half, please comment here with a link to your entry and we'll put it up for ya.
In other words: Don't panic if your entry isn't accepted within two seconds of submission. The admins aren't online 24/7.

:bulletred: If you have any other questions, please either leave a comment here or note DrZime

:bulletred: Effort. The judges can really tell how much effort was put into an image.

:bulletred: Be unexpected! Think out of the box and have fun.

:bulletred: Your panel of judges are:

:icondrmistytang: :iconratscout: :icondrzime:

Judges may enter too, if they want. But, you'll only up for the win in the popular vote section.

:star: Due Date: October 15th, 2016, midnight.

There are no extensions. Use your time wisely and don't procrastinate.

There's a countdown on our front page if you want to see exactly how much time you have left.

Three prizes will be given by popular vote, and three will be given by our panel of judges.

If you're interested in doing a prize request for one of the winners, just note the club or comment here!
If you're willing to donate a subscription to one of the winners, just let us know! ^0^

You may still enter the contest even if you want to give a prize, too.
