In the Judging Section: 
First Place What the judges were saying: Now these are some rare characters to be drawn! We love how it seems that Spinelli and her dad are watching TV,
but if you look at their expressions and body language you can tell it's a close moment for them.
Second Place What the judges were saying: This beautiful artwork features Mowgli riding his wolf father, Rama!
It's another rare choice of characters and lovingly illustrated in the traditional medium - a good choice for an illustration for The Jungle Book.
Third Place What the judges were saying: It's just great how Code-E tied together Goofy and Max's relationship with Max's love of skateboarding.
Having the characters doing something to bring them closer is always a great idea and true to real life!

Father's Day Contest Well, you should've seen this mini contest coming!
Feel free to do something really simple. This is a spitfire contest, after all!
If you love Disney's fathers, be sure to enter this contest, and don't delay! There will be no extensions to the due-date!

Spitfire Father's Day Contest 2012 Spitfire Father's Day Contest 2013- Crossovers are fine, but if you're going to do multiple fathers from multiple movies, then let's limit it to five papas. That way we won't get someone who draws every single father to win. Hehe.
- Each father you draw MUST be accompanied by at least one of his children. They wouldn't be fathers without them! Multiple children are allowed.
- Adoptive parents are fine, too. But, no big brother figures.
- And no father "figures", either. It's either gotta be real or adoptive.
- Don't make up a parent or child.
- You may include mamas in the picture too if you want, but remember to keep papa the focus!
- No gender bending. (Duh!)
- Any medium is allowed. Digital, traditional, literature, sculptures, etc. Go for it!
- Yes. Writing is allowed, too.
- Your entry must have been created for this contest. In other words, you can't enter a piece you did before the creation of this contest. [06-06-14]

We chose our winners by creativity, originality and personality more than artwork. So, be sure to stretch your imagination!
How to Gain Favor with the Judges- Be creative! The best artwork will not necessarily win. Think out of the box, and go wild!
- We will not choose anyone who traces an image from a screenshot or another artist. Take an original view, or use your own style to make your artwork unique. :3
- Write about your creative process and inspiration in your description. We will also be reading those.
- Put effort into your work. You don't have to be the best artist for your effort to show. Believe me, we can tell.
- Make a scene! There's nothing more boring to us than a bunch of characters standing around. Bring it to life!
Three prizes will be given by popular vote, and three will be given by our panel of judges.

PrideDiego finished the song, his hand stilling the guitar strings. The soft notes still lingered in the silence of the room. Diego had his head tilted down, almost shyly, smiling at his guitar as the clapping began. However, it was that wide grin of his, that one that squinted his eyes and made them dance. The one that showed amusement, and seemed to suggest a secret knowledge, and a hint of mischief. A calm, proud smile. Diego knew his song had turned out beautifully, and was simply lost in memories of the music, no thought paid to the crowd around him.

While the others applauded, I lifted my wineglass toward him, my face probably beaming. I yearned to brag to my tablemates, “That is my son,” but of course, they already knew.
Diego looked up toward the crowd, still grinning, still at ease as always.
