AND THE WINNERS ARE....
IN THE JUDGING SECTION:
First Place:
The judges fell head over heels in love with this lovely imagining of the would-be "Fool's Errand"
that would have been made in the 2000s. All the characters designs, back-story and thought
behind it made us VERY happy! Amazing work!
Second Place:
Another movie that would have been made in the 2000s! This one has a very Disney design
and the fun feel of the early 2000s Disney movies
like The Emperor's New Groove. Wonderful work!
Third Place:
We loved the representation for this on-going in and out of production movie,
Don Quixote. The characters are obviously very different from each other and
compliment each other very well! The sun and windmill silhouette pay great homage to the original story.

Movies that Could have Been For this contest we'll all be looking into Disney movies which were conceptualized but were never finished or never got the green light.
Read on if you're interested!
- No crossovers. Focus on one movie this time.
- No sequels. You cannot choose to draw for a movie that was going to be a sequel. Sorry! The members voted and they don't want it!
- No alternate versions of films that Disney released. Ex: No American Dog. So sorry!
- The movie, "The Snow Queen" AKA "Frozen" is now back in production, so you can't do that one either!
- If all that exists of a canceled movie is a synopsis or description, that's good enough! Just be sure to ask me beforehand if it's okay if you don't see it on the lists (the box links or on the wikipedia page) in the "Suggested Movies" sections below. I need to know it existed at some point before you start drawing. Hehe.
- You can also choose to do a canceled TV show, short or live action movie. You don't need to limit yourself to the animated ones.
- Any medium is allowed. Digital, traditional, literature, sculptures, etc. Go for it!
- Your entry must have been created for this contest. In other words, you can't enter a piece you did before the creation of this contest. [01-30-12]
- You may have up to two entries, but that's the limit.
- Keep it clean. No nudity, gore, or nipples. NO FETISHES!
- You may enter the contest even if you're not a member. Comment in this journal with a link to your entry when you're done so I can add it here.
- To submit your entry, simply submit it to our
Contest 17 - Movies that Could have Been folder in our gallery!
Please do not submit it to any other folder, or we may miss it.
- And please be aware it can take up to a day for us to list your entry here/ accept it into the group. We have about 9000 members, so it takes us a little bit of time to get through all our messages. If you've been waiting for more than a day and a half, THEN you can send us a note and ask what's up.
- When the contest is over, we'll put up a journal with all the entries on it, and the members will vote on which one they think is best. And, a panel of judges will decide on three other winners.

And also be aware that there's more concept art out there than are at these little sites I found! Be sure to do your own searches once you find something that interests you.
Panel of Judges
Judges may enter the contest, but they will only be eligible to win in the Popular Vote section.
We chose our winners by creativity, originality and personality more than artwork. So, be sure to stretch your imagination!
How to Gain Favor with the Judges- Be creative! The best artwork will not necessarily win. Think out of the box, and go wild!
- We will not choose anyone who traces an image from a screenshot or another artist. Take an original view, or use your own style to make your artwork unique. :3
- Write about your creative process and inspiration in your description. We will also be reading those.
- Put effort into your work. You don't have to be the best artist for your effort to show. Believe me, I can tell.
- Make a scene! There's nothing more boring to us than a bunch of characters standing around. Bring it to life!
Three of our winners will be chosen by popular vote, and the other three will be chosen by a panel of judges.
